Somehow, I’ve never been called for a jury duty. Until today. It is surprisingly nerve-wracking: as a grand juror you can be called to serve for 10, 20 or potentially even more days – something my work absolutely cannot afford – but the court doesn’t care about people’s work.

There is apparently a myriad ways to get out of regular jury duty, but the  grand jury is apparently different. As I watch all these people lining up with their excuses, I wonder what their excuses are.
