By some unlikely miracle, I passed two phone screenings at a certain amazon-owned company (I’m going for it despite the latest terrible press, darkly confirmed by the fact that their East Coast-based recruiter is sending me emails at 12:30am), and now they want me to come on-site to talk to 5 more people.
Since I already used up all my vacation and sick days, all 15 of them, on my “ghetto paternity leave”, and I had to beg and claw to get approval for another unpaid FMLA week in October for our move (companies, especially this one, does not look kindly on men who value their families), I am pretty much chained to the desk here.
I wonder how I could get out of this one. Any ideas?
