I haven’t been to AMNH in too long. It’s one of my favorite places in the city. Somehow, a place that used to feel so close is suddenly so far away. 

I think I used to go there the way a religious person goes to their temple/church – to feel utterly insignificant before the reality that’s out there.

An article in the Atlantic that I read yesterday about how scientific “faith” is different from religious faith (even though it sometimes doesn’t feel that way) reminded me of that.
