Closed on R’s place, at last.

This day could not have come soon enough.

Despite its beautiful sun-filled loveliness, it will be good to no longer
have this apartment in our lives. That empty shell of a place was too much
of a reminder of the hopes and dreams it once represented, of how corrupt
people could be, and how systems meant to protect the disadvantaged are
exploited to empower the dishonest and the bigoted.

It will also be a nice relief to no longer have to shell out the coop fees, and
pay for electricity and gas every month.

I wonder if it would set the record for the cheapest apartment sold on the
island of Manhattan in 2015. Propertyshark.com would know, but I don’t care
to look.

We were never meant to have a real estate empire, and we never wanted one.
But it was nice to have an excuse to take a 3 hour lunch to celebrate with
good food.
