Sonnet 130 – Shakespeare
Read by: Alan Rickman

My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips’ red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head;
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks;
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go
My mistress when she walks treads on the ground.
  And yet by heaven I think my love as rare
  As any she belied with false compare.

I actually saw him on stage at BAM some time back.

What a loss.

My favorite bento place is closed! Armed cops from “investigations unit” are all over it, on the roof, outside, and inside, everything is turned upside down and scattered about.
I wonder what they are looking for. I will never find out.

Couchsurfing

I’m still getting Couchsurfing emails, even though my home is no longer
suitable for hosting (nor is the location desirable for any visitor).

That leaves daily “Last Minute Couch Requests NYC” to remind me of a
never-ending stream of people who are traveling, who are doing something
amazing, and who are seeing this city for the first time. I miss sharing
this city.

If anyone of my followers (still baffled why anyone is following this blog)
find themselves in this city, and want a very opinionated (and probably
outdated, things changing by the minute) take on what they should do or see or eat in their time
here, my inbox is open.

In the meantime, I consciously avoid NYTimes’ Travel section, and I really
should unsubscribe from those emails (tumblr’s #wanderlust, #vagabond and #travel tags are not helpful either).
