Also, Erdogan supporters are fanatics. One of my coworkers in Canada is one. He openly expressed hate for Ataturk and says he would gladly be rid of everyone who lives in Izmir (one of the most liberal parts of Turkey).
Also, I remember Erdogan supporters driving around with flags and honking when he replaced the prime minister with his man while we were in France.
Sadly, it looks like the coup failed.
