Also high key disappointed with the way this company does work travel arrangements.

They want me at clients office at 9am on a Monday, in a suit, and probably looking half presentable, and are buying me the cheapest possible ticket on an overnight 7hr flight on a crappiest possible airline (AA), in the middle of the 4-seat bank of seats at the back of the plane. AA scroundels want $65 to sit in aisle, and they won’t even spring for that!

In the old company, on overnight flights, they know people should be in top shape for morning meetings and so they let you sleep on a plane in a normal seat, and they let you shower when you arrive at the lounge at the airport, but no such thing here.
And no more Savoy with their awesome showers – the most they could spring for is Holiday Inn, or some cheap place near Paddington station, while the client is in Mayfair, which is not walkable, and they would not pay for cabs, only Uber (but really they would love it if I took the tube).

I offered to stay at an Airbnb, which would be nicer and cheaper, but they said no.

I never have a problem with uncomfortable overnight flights in China Eastern coach, hostels with snoring roommates and Central American chicken buses, but when I’m flying for work and they ask me to put my life on hold essentially spending a week 24×7 with a client, and some libertarian older sales dude from North Carolina, I want at least a little dignity in return.

How can a company be so cheap and expect that people do good work for them?
