Also low key freaking out because my US passport is expiring in 7 months and the birth place is a Muslim country. Not on the list (yet),
but you never know with the orange con man.
I wonder if I should get it expedited while it’s still possible, and before they start revoking citizenships “to figure out what’s going on”.

This detaining of refugees at airports is making me sick to my stomach. It just struck too close to home. I vividly recall going through the same exact thing with my family, the same visa, the same airport, my uncle waiting for us on the other side, and a missing document that almost had us detained at the airport, too. But they let us through that time, and we just had to return a week later when the documents arrived. That was still in the pre-post-normal time, on the right side of the looking-glass we just tumbled through.

This is just too cruel. Perfect accompaniment to this – one of the recent This American Life episodes, titled, ironically, “Didn’t we solve that one?”

If I have any NYC followers who are interested in going to a Crypto party (https://www.cryptoparty.in/guiding_principles?mc_cid=a9b9448a2f&mc_eid=33172c20f6) tomorrow, where people exchange tips on protecting yourself from surveillance in the age of Trump, let me know if I will give you details.

(don’t worry, you won’t run into me, even if I somehow manage to make it there, it won’t be for more than 15-20 minutes some time during the day).
