I hate conspiracy-think, but it’s just too convenient. Putin’s very openly stated objectives are dissolution of NATO, ending of USD’s status as world reserve currency, and turning the West into the same mess as Russia is in.
Trump and team are delivering on all of those, and as fast as they can (is it because he is not sure for how long the scam will be allowed to continue?)
At the coop tonight working with not one, but two Turkish women. Fascinating and enlightening stuff about Gülen!
Basically normal (secular) Turks couldn’t care less if Erdogan gets him. Gülen used to be powerful and dangerous, but his Khomeini-like network had been largely dismantled. Also, I didn’t know he was kicked out of Germany before coming here.
Also, a story of what it’s like to take off in a plane when the coup is just beginning, and arrive when it just ended (spoiler: bizarre, scary, and not at all enjoyable, especially being locked up at the airport).
