“…Tavern 29? – Great plan!..-Lead the way!..” –
I hear this from a group of women as I run down the street to the subway. I worked too late this Friday night and I’m already too late and I should have been almost home at this hour.
A woman comes out of a yoga studio into the cold air and says to someone (companion?phone? I haven’t time to look) – “should I go to Urban? But it’s so farrrrrr!”
I keep running.
I fly through the turnstile and hear – “there are extensive delays in both directions due to an unauthorized person on the track at 33rd street. Police has been dispatched and is on the way”.
I give up and run 3 blocks across to another line descend the too narrow stairs and hear behind me:
“I will just keep on dancing and pretend it didn’t happen… I must look like someone you really don’t like…”
I thought for a while
I was gone
And alone
I thought for a while
And couldn’t find
My home
I’ve been going down
So please hold on
Hang on
I’ve been going down
Oh, how I long
Honey I’ve been gone too long
Can’t come around
Make my mind satisfied
And drowned
Hold me for a while
I’m only low on my own
If only for a while
I only sleep when I’m alone
We’ve been going down
And I won’t hold on, oh no
We’ve been going down
Oh, how I long
Ruth Bader Ginsburg Through the Years
A groundbreaking litigator for women’s rights before being appointed to the bench, Ruth Bader Ginsburg has worn many aspects in her eighty-five years. On the Justice’s birthday, flip through some photographs of her as a girl in Brooklyn, as a law graduate who left Columbia as co-valedictorian (but with no job offers), as a young mother, and as an advocate whose greatest legacy may be in the cases that she argued before what was then an all-male Supreme Court—and won.
(Photographs from the collection of the Supreme Court of the United States.)

I actually met her when she came to speak at the Old Company, and she is amazing!
Bitcoin Is Ridiculous. Blockchain Is Dangerous
Bubbles are melancholy things—swirls of lies and optimism used to hide a million unrealized yearnings.
It could take years, it could take a decade, but the blockchain freaks have a world in their heads, and they won’t rest until it’s real. That the rest of us live here, too, is the least of their concerns. Some of the things they’ll do will be magical, community-building, economically thrilling. Others may keep us up at night.
Still, I can’t help but look on in envy. Not for the believers’ possible wealth, because that will elude most. (Even in a distributed money platform, wealth has a way of finding only a few pockets.) I’m jealous that they’ll experience it all: the crash, the rejection, and then the slow rebuild as they learn the difference between toys and tools. They get to participate in the screaming edge of culture.

Is there something like free will, or are we entirely driven by external stimuli on which we react? A new paper from researchers at the NC State sought to analyse previous studies, showing that many contained methodical inconsistencies and conflicts arose.
Analysing no less than 48 such studies, the team found that the interpretation of the results seems to be driven by the metaphysical position of the people who carried tham out, not careful analysis of the results. Furthermore, they found a significant variability across the studies, like that a subset of them actually looked at where the activity was located in the brain and whether this was linked to will, which often lead to conflicting results. Other articles did not even assess the neural activity in question, meaning that their conclusions were based on mere speculation.
Such work is necessary because the informations available on such an important thing as free will does alter many aspects of life, like behaviour, as it has been shown through yet more studies, since the sense of responsibility for one’s actions might decrease.
Discovered Patagonia’s Wornwear from a box a neighbor received downstairs. In the perfect world, Patagonia would be all that I would ever need to wear (and maybe American or Italian made shoes).
Cheap Fast Fashion like Uniqlo and Zara is one of those things that will do us in.
