“Why are we wasting resources going to space when the planet is so messed up?”

Firstly the only way to survive as a species long term is by becoming interplanetary. It’s like having a backup in case your computer crashes, except it’s a meteor.

Secondly, the research done to send people into space is used on Earth every day, and in more ways than most people think.

An interesting new study showed that the simple action of holding hands battles pain-sensations, since it synchronizing the partners’ breath and heart rates, as well as the brain-wave-patterns.

Conducted by the CU Boulder and the University of Haifa, the study also showed that the more empathy one has with their suffering partner, the more their brainwaves sync and the more the pain goes away.
The study is yet another one which piles up with others about interpersonal synchronisation, but is the first one about the brain-wave synchronisation in this context.

Furthermore, the researchers found that when one of the partners is feeling pain and the other cannot touch them, the synchronzied brain-waves disappeared, which is also true for the linked hear rate and respiratory synchronisation.

You will grow all you need to grow inside my spine
And then take what you need to take, what’s yours is mine
And then just give all you want of it to some new thing
I’ll stay here, the provider of that constant sting they call love
They call love
You will drain all you need to drain out of me
All the colors have washed away, no more rosy sheen
Not just a pale isolated shallow water place
Oh what a place I call myself
I call myself
Oh love all you need to love before it goes
When your face becomes a stranger’s I don’t know
You will never remember who I was to you
Carried in the womb
I’m called mother
I’m called mother
They’re called home
They’re called home
They’re called
They’re called
Mothers
Mothers
Give all you need to give
And sometimes they won’t take what they need to take
The strangest chemical reaction
Inside of her brain, no she’s not the same
No she’s not the same
No she’s not the same

Since I can’t convince our building to put solar on the roof, perhaps I could convince them to at least lease it to someone who will, and collect free money for the budget.

It is oddly difficult to find info on this – there is plenty of information, but it’s mostly applicable to people with individual houses, and this city has its own set of regulations and fire codes that might as well make it a different country. There are sales pitches from companies that do do work here, like VentureSolar, but what I want is to see if there are any pitfalls and downsides that I want to be aware of and address beforehand.
