Project from artist Lauren McCarthy where she becomes a real world Amazon Alexa, a human assistant for homes fitted with sensors and cameras:

LAUREN is a human intelligent smart home. Lauren will visit your home,
deploy a series of smart devices, and watch over you remotely 24/7.
Lauren will control your home for you, attempting to be better than an
AI, understanding you as a person. You will be able to interact with her
by calling her name, but she will also do things for you without your
asking. She will learn faster than an algorithm, adapting to your
desires and anticipating your needs.

i think a lot of us struggle to do things ‘just for us’ if there’s no accountability, like waking up, drinking enough water, eating healthy, being productive and wholesome, going out to see things or people. i feel like somewhere in there, we always value others needs over/differently to our own. so when there’s absolutely no drive to do something simply for your own benefit (health, satisfaction etc.) it says so much about how we value ourselves and how we respect ourselves. no respect means no drive

Yes. One way to reframe this is to say that I’m taking care of myself for the benefit of others. So, I’m drinking water now so I could be healthy tomorrow because R is counting on my help, or I’m going to work I don’t particularly care about because otherwise we all will have no place to live, and I’m saving/investing money because my parents have no savings to live off of when they retire, I am taking a shower because otherwise I will make the commute of others on my train even more miserable – things like this.
