I spent way too much time thinking of that strange concert and reading on really icky alt-news sites – it is really unhealthy. Talking to my cellist friend yielded even more bizarre information (so yeah they all were under impression this was supposed to SUPPORT the White Helmets) and they are even more upset about being used by Russian propaganda.

There’s even more than I should not be posting on here. If one were an actual journalist, it probably would be an interesting story to investigate, but I wouldn’t touch it with a six foot pole.

@112956a I am still feeling a bit upset over this. Basically, someone was really pissed off that White Helmets won The Oscars for the best documentary, so this was Russian propaganda machine in high gear, with signs like “White Helmets are US propaganda”, and “U.S. hands off Syria” (presumably to let Russia and Assad and Hizbollah do whatever).
The irony is that it is them who consider us duped by the “mainstream media”

There were two large unmarked TV cameras there, too! I have a hunch who it was, and will check russian.rt.com later tomorrow.

As I guessed, the mysterious cameramen wielding those unmarked TV cameras were RT (Russian government propaganda outlet), but apparently there was more to this than I thought..

So, the concert itself was in support of White Helmets, but it was disrupted by unidentified “anti-war activists”. Of course, RT was right there to film it all. https://www.rt.com/usa/379391-anti-syrian-war-protest-disrupts/ .

Complete clusterf*ck. Especially if one reads the alt-right commentary on there.

I think I’ve said it before, but I just wanted to say again how much I appreciate every single one of my followers on here.
This is a pretty selfish blog, and the fact that someone I never met and never will reads it – and occasionally offers help, is infinitely humbling.
Thank you.
