As I was driving through the snow to pick up takeout (delicious yummy Turkish) from 2.4 miles away I realized that the last time I biked was over a year ago.
Though hoping to fix up that bike that’s now on the balcony that friend found in trash (it’s a vintage French Motobécane ! With lugged steel frame and mostly original 1970s components ! I can’t believe things people throw away in my old neighborhood) and maybe keep it chained in the street and ride it when it’s less snowy/wet. I better get a big heavy chain!

That Englishwoman also proposed installing saunas in the parliament so that men legislators would relax prior to making decisions, and be unaffected by too much testosterone.
An alternative, making everyone have sex prior to legislative sessions, would be too impractical, she said.
It’s too bad I didn’t catch her name. I wonder what else she proposed.
“Responsibility hardens the heart. It must.”
She also said how nihilism is something only the privileged people have and that how if you had to struggle you have to be an optimist. This explains a lot about some people I know.
here’s to resisting nihilism in 2017 always.
99 Reasons Why 2016 Was a Good Year
Important to put things into perspective.
Heard about this link on the radio from some awesome Englishwoman they interviewed.
Better than reading “this week in war”.
Why do the ads for The Man In The High Castle that Tumblr has look so relevant now? The book was written in 1970s!
Also, I am sick of reading the words “the alt-right”! Why don’t they call it by the name they’ve always been known: “white Christian supremacists”. Or if that’s too long, just “neo-Nazis”.
We should write to editorial boards of all English (and not just English!) speaking media – they are about to be sidelined, but they still have some influence.
How to Sleep
I warned before that this blog is going to be about sleep and an occasional picture of the sky.
The guy I sit next to shared how there were many people in my role before me and no one lasted. They left because they hated it so much.
That’s nice to know.
