Just say no to neoNazi-supporting Home Despot

30 years ago today, Elie Wiesel’s astonishingly timely Nobel Prize acceptance speech about ending injustice.
That’s it. Whenever there’s a form, other than our pediatrician, where for whatever reason they ask for L’s gender, I’m going to just write-in “baby”.

Moonlight was so good, and beautiful, and sad, I still need to think about it.
All kind of small…
– just learned that can’t renew my passport in person must do it by mail – that means no trips even potential ones for two months
– I lost L’s pacifier with its strap, and he needs it, and R got angry with me for my usual clumsiness and irresponsibility
– went to buy buy baby to buy a new one and the store credit they gave me when I returned something 7 months ago expired. Bastards.
– join.me consumes 100% CPU and the mouse barely moves and can’t really do anything while stupid call drolls on
– still haven’t told parents what I want for holidays and I know it will be drama when I do
– made a mistake of looking at hateful Russian pro trump chain mails that my dad forwards me (they usually get auto forwarded to special folder so I don’t have to look at them)
– toilet broke down and have to buy new one but choices are overwhelming and anything decent is so expensive. Toilet shopping plans this weekend – probably not something to look forward to
– Date night tonight – should be nice but movie (moonlight) is not my choice, and will probably upset me, and with sitter we can only catch 9:15 showing meaning I will be sleepy sleepy sleepy….
Feeling thoroughly crappy for no apparent reason. Or accumulation of reasons.
As usual my parents asked me what to get for me and R.
The best present is a future for us and for L that we do not have to fear – before, we took it for granted, mostly, but now, no longer.
So, instead of presents, I asked them to donate to organizations that would help with that future. And I want to keep it uncontroversial.
They love to be out in nature, so: Sierra Club and Natural Resource Defense Council.
They hate neo-nazis, so Anti-Defamation league
They are anti-religious and believe in science, so Union of Concerned Scientists
They support free expression, so PEN America.
They are pro gun-control, so Violence Policy Center (the one organization NRA hates the most)
They also voted for Trump, and I don’t want drama at the holidays, but I can’t imagine there to be any.
