Exclusive: Even Pokémon Go used by extensive Russian-linked meddling effort

Just a reminder: this happened not just on FB and Twitter, but also right here on this site, and the right-wing voters are not the only ones targeted.

This whole story reminds me of that strange support/protest/counterprotest flashmob-concert at Grand Central that I wrote here about a few months back, that strongly smelled of Russians staging it.

The goal there is not really to do some one specific thing – the goal is to divide us and to disrupt us as a country and liberal democracy as a viable system. So far, they seem to be succeeding. Think about this next time you repost something that looks outrageous and gets your blood boiling. And yeah, dontshootus tumblr is a confirmed Russian-government troll entity that has nothing to do with ending injustices in this country.

WQXR radio station subversively plays Colonel Bogey’s March, and then the DJ comes in and informs us how during the war the song had anti-Nazi lyrics.

Alas, she tell us cheekily, the lyrics are not appropriate for the radio.

Can we just make it anti-Trump resistance song again? I’ve been humming it all day!

Bannon has only got one ball
Donnie has two but very small
Sessions has something sim’lar
But poor old Spicer has no balls at all

Election Update: Yes, Donald Trump Has A Path To Victory

If you live in Colorado, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, Wisconsin, New Mexico, or anywhere near Nevada – please, please do everything you can to get the vote out.

Volunteer to go canvassing this weekend, call people, give people rides to the polls, anything.. This is it, this is the last chance to do something.

If people actually vote, there is no way Trump could win.

Election Update: Yes, Donald Trump Has A Path To Victory

Questions for the debate

Apparently for the debate on October 9th you can submit, and vote on, questions to be asked of Hillary and Trump.
For now, it is dominated by questions very unfriendly to Clinton.

We should share this far and wide and change this.

I would love to see questions on preserving freedom of the press, reducing inequality, adapting to climate change, preserving the U.S. credit rating (with Trump saying earlier how he would be ok defaulting on U.S. debt), and teaching critical thinking

Questions for the debate

Everyone at the Coop last night was freaking out about the likelihood of Trump being elected. One of them, who is on Green Party message boards, saw how people no longer even talk about Bernie anymore, but how they seriously are considering voting for the Green Party candidate, which would guarantee Trump victory.

Just enough to fuel my own trump freakout.

Also, Nader-regret recollections, and Brexit comparisons.

What’s interesting is how little consideration is given to Russia’s input in all of this and how Trump election would be a perfect scenario for them in weakening the US and making the world more dangerous place. I actually wonder where Green Party contributions are coming from now. Especially considering how he might pick Flynn for VP.

Bernie is not a socialist. He is a social democrat, like so many European
politicians (with a bit more integrity perhaps).

And Trump is not a fascist. He is a power-hungry autocratic narcissist,
like Chavez, Putin and Peron.

I hate it when people throw around labels they don’t understand.
I grew up in a socialist – and autocratic – country, and I know.

Bernie is likely to slow down our transition from capitalism into
corpocracy, though unlikely to be any more successful at reversing it than Obama was. Getting to nominate 3 Supreme Court justices could go a long way though.

Trump is likely to get us into a global war, thus guaranteeing that corpocracy never happens, since humans would never have a global civilization again.

But now we’ve reached the point where the choice is no longer between
Bernie and Trump, but between Hillary and Trump.

It may be inconvenient for many, but this is just how it is.
